Obituary for Theresa Molloy McGowan:
Mrs. Michael McGowan, 67, passed away at a Madison hospital Saturday morning at 2:30, following a 10 day illness The cause of her death was heart trouble. Theresa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Molloy, was born in the Town of Montrose, Oct. 8, 1874. She grew to womanhood in that township and on Feb. 10, 1897, was united in marriage to Michael McGowan. They lived in Montrose and Fitchburg until six years ago when he retired from farming and came 55 March 11, 2005 to this village to make their home.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Edward Sweeney of Milton Junction, Mrs. Rose Becker of Wauwatosa, and Mrs. Edmund Waite of Milwaukee; one son, Arthur of Fitchburg; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Slattery of Belleville and Mrs. Andrew Sulland of Verona; one brother John Malloy of Madison, and 28 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Holy Mother of Consolation church. Rev. Father Timothy O'Keefe reading the service. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery. The pall bearers were Eugene Sweeney, Ed White, John Kivlin, Joe Manion, Arthur Purcell and William Sweeney.
