Married Hannah Hahn in MO about 1853.
Father of Rosanna, Rhua, Henry, Cordelia, Lorana, Sophia, and William.
He served in the Civil War; Pvt Co A, 19 Missouri Cav.
Distiller of apples and peaches per tax record Nov/1863.
He was a farmer, per the 1870 census.
NOTE: There are books that give John's death the same as his father (Jacob); this was a different John Lutes/Lutz.
NOTE: John's daughter Rhua is "buried beside her father" according to the book Johannes Georg Lutz and His Descendants, by Margaret D. Lutes. I found Rhua's grave, but did not find my great-great-grandfather John's. The cemetery is in very poor shape, headstones are hidden under vines and overgrowth. Many headstones are toppled with graves sunken.
