Hazel Belle Boyett 94 passed away on Monday November 14, 2011. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday November 17, 2011 at Sunray Baptist Church. Rev. Caleb Teeters pastor of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow in Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray.

Hazel was born on April 8, 1917 in Franklin County, Texas. She always loved telling people that she "was the 7th child born to a 7th child". She was one of ten children born to Benjamin and Mollie Massey.

Hazel married James "Frank" Boyett in Winfield, Texas on January 27, 1934. They moved to Sunray in 1951. When Frank died on May 15, 2007 they had just celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. If you ever asked her about marrying Frank her reply was always the same, "we married under a yard light in the preacher's yard!"

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank; her daughter Wanda Close; one granddaughter Kathy Rye; one grandson Tommy Kenneth Fitzgerald; five brothers: Homer, O.B., S.N., John and Harold Massey; three sisters: Lorene Jones, Luella Dawson and Lela Reese.

Hazel is survived by: one daughter MaeDell Fitzgerald and husband Bill of Sunray; one son James Boyett and wife Linda of Amarillo; seven grandchildren: Steve Homer, Keith Homer, Toni Admire, LeeAnn Moore, Robin Vines, Robert and Travis Boyett; eleven great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and two great grand dogs.

The family requests that memorials be sent to Memorial Hospice 224 East 2nd Street Dumas, Texas 79029.
