Mrs. John E. Sorrells, 89, formerly of Berwick died at the Abingdon Nursing Home. The former Amy Dugger was born March 12, 1879 at Roodhouse to John Harrison Dugger and Nancy Lucinda Sharpe and lived in Berwick since 1930. She married John Enoch Sorrells Aug. 2, 1895. He died May 9, 1952.
Surviving are five sons, Ethan of Ellisville, Leonard and Lemuel, both of Bushnell, Vilasco of St. Augustine and Everett of Ipave, four daughters, Gertrude Sorrells of Arlington, VA, Mrs. Edward (Letha) Larson and Mrs. Jesse (Lena) Laron, both of Berwick and Mrs. Vivian Ruhl of Ellisville, 32 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 2 pm at the Larson Funeral Home at Abingdon. Burial will be at Abingdon Cemetery
