Mrs. Emma Sievers, 75, died this morning at 2 o'clock at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, where she had been a patient three days. Mrs. Sievers resided with her daughter Miss Irma Sievers, at 459 Hoehn St.
Daughter of August and Sophie Suhre Ohm, she was born Jan. 16, 1889 in Hamel Township where she resided for 51 years. She had lived in Edwardsville the past 24 years. Her husband, Albert Sievers whom she married July 25, 1909 in Hamel, died April 29, 1939.
Surviving in addition to the daughter, Miss Irma Sievers, are five other daughters and one son, Mrs. Leonard (Amanda) Davis, Mrs. Norman (Lydia) Schoettle, Mrs. Joseph (Marie) Slaby and Alvin Sievers, all of Edwardsville, Mrs. Herman (Viola) Stille of Hamel and Mrs. Norene Gerson of East Alton; one brother, Henry Ohm of Hamel, 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Mrs. Sievers was a member of Eden United Church of Christ and Circle 5 of the Women's Guild.
Visitation will be at Pletcher Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday. Final rites have been set for 2 p.m. Sunday from Eden United Church of Christ with the Rev. R. O. Laaser officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel United Church of Christ cemetery, Hamel.
Pall bearers will be Leonard Ohm, Roy Ohm, Orville Ohm, Clarence Sievers, Herbert Meyer and Henry Rauchhaupt.
