Rupert-Preston Guy Dufphey, 81, Rupert, died Thursday at a Boise Hospital.
Born December 25, 1892 at Battle Creek, Nebraska, he married Mary Wall, August 26, 1929, at Pocotella.
He was reared and attended schools in Haley and served in France in World War I.
After the war, he worked in the sheep business before he and his wife opened the Home Cafe in 1934.
In 1942 they moved to Rupert where he worked for the Rupert Police Department and operated the Cottage Cafe. in 1960 he retired but had been working for the Salt Lake City Tribune in the Rupert area.
He was a member of the Veterans of World War I.
Survivors are his wife, Rupert; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Melba) Williams, San Leandro, Calif.; one son, Richard Dufphey, Boise and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Monday at the Rupert LDS Church by Bishop Clint Nelson. Military rites will be at the Rupert cemetery by the Wilbur C. Hall Post No. 77 American Legion of Paul.
Friends may call at the church from noon to service time on Monday.
