Frances Violet Davis was born in 1912 to Anna (Van Alstine) and John Cobain. She was the youngest of seven children. Francis lived most of her life in Ellensburg but in the early 1940's during WW II the Davis family lived in Anaheim, Ca.
Frances was married to Fred Palmer Davis for 57 years prior to his passing in 1988. They shared a love of the outdoors and spent their free time with family and friends enjoying natures beauty in the surrounding hills of Ellensburg. They also took yearly trips by train to western Pennsylvania, following Fred's retirement from Kelleher Motors to visit family and historical sites while enjoying the autumn colors.
Frances worked many years in the old Diamond Store Yardage Dept. She always enjoyed sewing, crocheting and craft projects but was best known for her beautiful acrylic or oil paintings. Many of her paintings were exhibited at various county galleries and shows as well as the Ellensburg Community Hospital Corridor Art Gallery.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Darwin Davis & wife Pat, Terry Davis & wife Jacquie; Four grandchildren: Debbie Cernick & husband Bob, Todd Davis & wife Missy, Dan Davis & Sue Hart, Bethany & Lars Braun; and five great-granchildren.
A graveside service will be held July 12th at 1 pm at the Thorp Cemetery. A picnic will be held at the Taneum Campground following the service to celebrate her life and love of the woods.
