Mrs James E Addie died at 6 o'clock Wednesday night at the Mary Lanning Memorial hospital in Hastings after a long illness.

Following the death of her and Mr Addie's only son, Dwight, in 1925. Mrs Addie's health began to fail. For more than ten years she had been an invalid, spending the major portion of her time in bed and being a patient at the hospital many times.

Since December 18, she had been completely paralyzed and at the Mary Lanning Memorial hospital. She was 63 years old.

Born Ethel J Riggle on August 14, 1880, Mrs Addie was the daughter of Mr and Mrs B F Riggle of Lucas, Iowa. When she was four years old the family moved to the homestead near Callaway, where she continued to make her home until her marriage to James E Addie on October 17, 1907.

She was a graduate of the Callaway high school and of the Peru State Teachers college. She taught school for many years at Callaway, Broken Bow and Friend. Growing of flowers and distributing bouquets to persons who were ill were her principal hobbies before her long illness.

A member of the First Presbyterian church here, Mrs Addie for a number of years taught Sunday school classes at the church. For nearly 30 years she and Mr Addie were members of the Emanon club of this city, a literary club in which Mrs Addie retained membership until her health failed.

Despite her long and trying illness, Mrs Addie remained cheerful and patient.

Surviving are her husband, a local attorney and the police magistrate; one sister, Mrs Ida L Kolbo of Callaway; one brother, Frank L Riggle of Gibbon; one aunt, Mrs Jessie Samuelson of Lisco; three nieces and a number of cousins.

Funeral services were conducted at Livingston Bros Funeral home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with the Rev Silas g Kessier of the First Presbyterian church officiating.
