Clifford Easton Blackwell
Clifford Easton Blackwell, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born April 19, 1918, in Lawrence County. His parents were James Ellis and Vanessa (Easton) Blackwell. He married Ruth Naomi Chasteen on Aug. 12, 1937, in Monroe County. She preceded him in death Jan. 10, 2000. Survivors include three daughters, Carole Patterson of Hallandale Beach, Fla., Judy Lockhart of Bloomington and Marilyn Tow of Bargersville; two sisters, Bonnie Blackwell of Franklin and Betty Jacobs of Cartersville, Ga.; four brothers, Lenial Blackwell and Paul Blackwell, both of Franklin, Herschel Blackwell of Bloomington and Russell Blackwell of Greenwood; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bob W. Blackwell, on Dec. 29, 1995.
He attended Smithville High School.
He was a self-employed construction and maintenance worker and worked at Franklin Community School Corp., retiring in 1985.
The Rev. Ermol Blackwell will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
