GEORGE SELBY CLARKE
Word has been received of the death on March 9 at Los Angeles, Cal., following an accident of George Selby Clarke, aged 79, brother of Mrs. Isaiah VanOrder of 38 Livingston avenue, and uncle of J, C. Bennett of the Jackson Press. Deceased came from a family of printers his father, William Wallace Clarke, being for many years compositor on the Manchester Guardian while a brother, John R. Clarke was compositor and proof-reader on the Chicago Tribune for over thirty years.
The late Mr. Clarke was also a printer, but for a number of years past had been connected with the records department of the city of Los Angeles. He win be remembered by some of the older people of Kingston having lived here In his boyhood. Besides his wife he leaves two sons.
