MACON - William Wade Avant, Sr. of 101 Red Eagle Trail, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009.
Mr. Avant, son of the late William Hall Avant and the late Sally Lee Andrews, was born in Deepstep, GA in 1918. He was predeceased by his son, William Wade Avant, Jr., and by three brothers and three sisters. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Mr. Avant was an employee of Chris Sheridan Construction Company for thirty-two years. A five year veteran of the United States Army, he served in World War II.
Mr. Avant is survived by his wife, Ruth W. Avant of Macon.
