James M. Allington, 85 of Soldiers Grove and formerly of Seneca, died, Friday morning, November 12, 2010 at the Vernon County Hospital in Viroqua.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Monday November 15, 2010 at the Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien. The Rev. Lynn Schreck will officiate at the service. James M. Allington was born August 11, 1925 at rural Seneca. He was the son of James and Irene West Allington. He graduated from Seneca High School with the class of 1944. On October 22, 1949 he was united in marriage to Tillie Sawvell in Prairie du Chien. Jim milked cows his entire career, selling the cows in March of 2000 and retiring.
He is survived by two daughters, Betty (Ken) Kroll of Greendale, Wisconsin, Brenda (Charles) Hiam of Ferryville; one son, Kory Allington of Eastman; ten grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Gary Waldman of Stitzer, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Tillie in 1993; a son Keith in 1977, a son Kenneth in 2005 and a daughter Bonnie Waldman in 2009.
