On June 19, 1938 he was married to Irene M. Childs. Two children were born into this union.
Before moving to Courtland in the summer of 1954, he spent twenty years with law enforcement work in Chanute, Newton and in Coffeyville, Kansas where he was Chief of Police.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and two brothers.
He is survived by wife, Irene; daughter, Ruby M. Goettsch, son, Gary Keeling, and daughter, Marcilene K. Wittmer; five grandchildren and one great - grandchild;
sister, Stella Reid and brother, Everett Keeling.
Interment was made in Belleville cemetery, Belleville.
