BRADFORD Isadora Louise

Isadora Louise Bradford, age 87, of Whitehouse, OH, died March 25, 2004, at Arbors of Waterville. She was born to Arthur O. and Esther Miller of rural Hamler, Ohio, on May 31, 1916. She studied music at Bowling Green University. She also enlisted in the Army as a WAC, served in the Signal Corps, and was recognized for her work in the Military Intelligence Division, G-2. She stayed on the job the day her husband was killed in the Philippines. A tough lady. In 1949, she married William Bradford of Whitehouse, Ohio. They remained together until he died in 1986.
She supported NRA issues, was a member of the Whitehouse Post of The American Legion and continuously flew a flag at her home thru peace or war. She also supported the exploration of space and was continually in touch with elected officials. From her own military experience, she was opposed to the Viet Nam war from the start.
She was a church organist and music teacher in the Toledo area and traveled once to India to play for a wedding. She counseled with troubled young people at the Maumee Youth Center. She performed with the Maumee Community Band and the Genoa Legion Band and once put on her old army uniform and marched with a high school band for a Memorial Day parade. The young people were unusually impressed.
To her children she imparted humor, wit, a love of good music, personal determination, and a sense of fairness to others. She attended Hope Methodist Church in Whitehouse where she used to play organ.
A sister, Dorothy; brothers, Larry, Weldon, and Kenneth preceed her in death. A sister, Ruth Campbell, survives in California. The children Arda Bucher, Arthur Bradford, and William Bradford survive along with loving grandchildren.
We'll miss you Mom. You were the best.
Friends and family may call Sunday, March 28, 2004, from 2-5 and 7-9 at Peinert Funeral Home, Whitehouse, Ohio. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church in Whitehouse, OH, with Rev. Tom Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville, OH.
