Born September 29, 1917 in Coalville, UT to Earl and Nettie Crittenden Brooks.
Married Mary Louise McMillian on November 23, 1938; sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 26, 1950. Together they raised five daughters.
Worked as a heavy equipment operator and retired from the State of Utah after eighteen years of service.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as bishop, high council member, and in many of the auxiliaries, currently a counselor in the Quartzite, AZ branch presidency.
In addition to being a worker in the Ogden LDS Temple, he joyfully served three missions with his wife from 1980-1987. Springer was a non-judgmental, gentle man and truly loved all people.
Survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Louise (Doug) Newton, Bonnie (Pat) Ovard, Joy (Myron) Mickelson, Ronda (Gerry) Okuda; son-in-law, James Jenkins; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Thelma West and Lorraine Rock; and brother, Ralph Brooks. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Jenkins; twelve brothers and sisters; and grandson, Jay Dee Newton.
Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, Coalville, UT, on Monday, August 20, 2001 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at 12:00 p.m. in the Hoytsville Church.
Interment: Hoytsville, UT Cemetery.
