Mrs. Mavis (Jacobs) Spiceland, age 92, of Paducah, KY (Sharpe Community), died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 3:20 a.m. at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY. Born March 15, 1920 in Stewart County, TN., she was a homemaker and a 50 year member of the Sharpe Homemaker's Club. She was a member of the Sharpe Church Of Christ.
She was the daughter of the late John Rymon Jacobs and the late Eva (Coy) Jacobs.
She also survived by one daughter, Bernadine Spiceland Barlow of Paducah, KY., two sons, R.M. Spiceland, Jr. of Benton, KY., Mickey Terrell Spiceland of Calvert City, KY., eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roscoe Mills Spiceland, Sr., one son, Michael Raymond Spiceland, one daughter, Carolyn Sue Fitzgerald, one brother, Gordon Jacobs and one sister, Ruby Underhill.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
Mike Fields will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Sharpe Cemetery, Sharpe, KY.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
