He went by Abraham Lincoln Decker, Hamilton Lincoln Decker and Ham Decker. His parents were Sylvester and Sarah (Lappin) Decker. After Sarah's death his father married Rebecca (Lappin) [sister of Sarah?] Claspy Gibson on 13 Nov 1869.
He married Susan Elizabeth Davis on 3 November 1886 in Champaign County Illinois. They had 13 children according to my grandmother[their granddaughter], but so far only know of 11: Mamie, Effie, Bertha Lucretia, Mary Ann, Goldie/Golda Faye, Sylvester Aaron, Gertrude Lola, Elmer, Chinton 'Joe', Edith Loraine, and Ruth Madeline.
Also according to my grandmother he was considered a wealthy man until hog cholera wiped him out. He had snow white hair by the age of 32. He was described as a large jovial German man, yet later described as very quiet.
