He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Trujillo; sons Martin (Marty) Trujillo and Joseph (J.D.) Trujillo; parents Feliciano and Andreaitta Trujillo; brothers Felix and Ernest Trujillo; sisters Tillie, Rosina, Nellie, Marie, Lourdes, and Mary.
Joe leaves his daughter Belinda Trujillo; granddaughters Melanie Maez, Venessa (Ray) Chavez, and Elisa Trujillo and her mother Maria Atencio; grandsons George (Trish) Anaya, Jr., and Michael (Alyssa) Anaya; great-grandchildren Daniel, Brandie, Celina, Isaiah, Diego, Emilio, Rheanna, and Estevan; adopted daughter Joanne (George) Anaya; adopted son Johnny (Erika) Barela;, and numerous other relatives.
Joe was a WWII Army Veteran and a lifetime Santa Fe resident who retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He owned, along with his sons, the NM Bookkeeping & Tax Service and the La Casa Judy Hotel. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a passionate golf and bowling competitor, in which he won many trophies and awards.
Visitation will be held at Berardinelli Mortuary on Saturday, July 30th, at 6 p.m., with Rosary to follow at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 1st, at 10 a.m., at the Guadalupe Santuario Church, with interment to follow at 11:15 a.m. at the National Cemetery.
