THE VILLAGES — Warren G. Love, 78, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.
He was born in Mount Airy, N.C., and moved to The Villages six years ago from Virginia. He was a retired Colonel for the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Shriners, American Legion Post #347, Masonic Lodge #394, Red Sox Nation, Sebring Convertible Club, Village Idiots, The Villages Softball Team; was an avid baseball fan, enjoyed golf and coached baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; daughters Angela Love, Richmond, Va., Jennifer Mills, The Villages, Melissa Love Hampton, Va.; sister, Doris Bowman, Mount Airy, N.C.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mr. Love will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services — The Villages with visitation the evening before from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home with a gathering of friends in the reception hall.

Col. Warren G. Love, 78, of The Villages passed away at The Villages Regional Hospital on Friday, November 11, 2011. Colonel Love retired after 30 years of service in the United States Air Force. He was a native of Mt. Airy, NC and moved to this area from Virginia 6 years ago. Col. Love was a member of Community United Methodist Church, the Shriners, American Legion Post #347, Masonic Lodge #394, Red Sox Nation, Sebring Convertible Club, Village Idiots, The Villages Softball Club, avid baseball fan, enjoyed golf, coaching baseball, and was a wordsmith.
Survivors include his wife Carol, daughters, Angela Love of Richmond, VA, Jennifer Mills of The Villages, Melissa Love of Hampton, VA; sister Doris Bowman of Mt. Airy, NC; grandchildren James Joseph Mills, III, Joshua Love, and Jamie Love; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Service for Mr. Love will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services – The Villages with visitation the evening prior from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home with a gathering of friends in the reception hall.
