HAPPY - Dee Taylor, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 14 in Amarillo. Services were Tuesday, Nov. 17 at First Baptist Church of Happy with Dr. Lonny Poe, the Rev. Travis LaDuke, and the Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery of Tulia under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home.

Mr. Taylor was born in Mitchell County on March 26, 1907. He married Nora Denny on Oct. 31, 1925 in Lockney. They moved to Swisher county in 1929, and he was a self-employed farmer and stockman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Happy and served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Mr. Taylor was a 32nd degree Mason, and he helped organize Swisher County REA in 1939-1940 and served as president of the board. He also served on numerous civic organizations through the years.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Maynard of Amarillo and LaNelle Todd of Happy; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
