The body of 8-year-old Homer Prentice Hopper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hopper of Hominy was found in about eight feet of water below the low-water bridge in the Hominy park north of that town Friday afternoon. The child had fallen into the water below the dam while he and a playmart, Mack Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Walker of Hominy, were playing near the bridge and hunting for shells about 5 p.m. Friday, reports said Saturday morning.

Firemen and others worked over the youth at a local doctor's office, but effort to revive him failed.

Both parents of the dead youth live in Hominy. The senior Hopper operates the Sinclair service station in Hominy. The boy is the maternal grandson of Mrs. Kate Barker of Hominy.
