Augusta Lavery married Deloss Curtis approximately 1853 and bore him a daughter Ella in 1854. The family was residing in Barre, Orleans County NY in 1855, per the NYS Census. Deloss died after being wounded in the Civil War battle at Bull Run, while in Confederate captivity in Richmond VA in 1861. In approximately 1863 Augusta married William B. Kingsley, a widower with two children by his first wife Mary. Those children, Carrie and William A. Kingsley were Augusta's stepchildren. The blended family of parents and three children were residing in Carlton, Orleans County in 1865, per the NYS Census.


THE BUFFALO EXPRESS, THURSDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 8, 1891:

The funeral of Mrs. W. B. Kingsley was held yesterday afternoon at her late home on Main Street in Medina, the Rev. Mr. Latham officiating. Mrs. Kingsley died quite suddenly on Saturday night. She was an earnest member of the Baptist Church and also a member of the Royal Templars. A husband survives her, with one son, Mr. W. A. Kingsley. and one daughter, Mrs. E. C. Holsenburg of Medina.
