Roy J. Benson Passes Away in City Hospital Roy Justice Benson, for many years a resident of Jones and vicinity, passed away Sunday in Wesley hospital, after many months illness. He was 79. He was born near Independence, Iowa. While still a child he moved to Kansas with his family, then to Oklahoma in 1889. Services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Jones Christian Church. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Mrs. Benson was a building contractor, and followed that business after he sold his farm near Jones, Survivors are two sons, Melvin and Frank Benson of Jones; two daughters, Mrs. Lona Lambert of Sumner, Okla. and Mrs. Nora Schweiger, who is a missionary in Kenya, Africa. He also leaves a brother Earling, Morro Bay, California and a sister, Mrs. Agnes smith, of Fair Haven, Vermont, one child died in infancy.
