Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Byron Smith Mackay, age 62, passed away January 26, 1992 of a stroke. He had endured a life long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Born January 17, 1930 in Granger, Utah, a son of Forest and Lucy Elizabeth Smith Mackay. He married his high school sweetheart, Caryl Gaye Nielson June 49, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He attended Granite High School, and Salt Lake Barber College. He worked many years at Winder Dairy, and was the owner/manager of Byron's Barber Shop. He was a member of the LDS Church, and served as the Bishop of the Granger 26th Ward. At the time of his death, he was serving in the High Priest Group leadership.

He is survived by wife; two sons, Glen S. Mackay of West Valley City; and Dan B. and wife Debby Mackay of Fremont, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Peggy) Dalton of West Valley City; and Mrs. Lane (Sandra) Henslee of Kearns; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Pat (Elva) Orton of Bennion; one brother, Lowell S. Mackay of West Jordan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 29, 1992, 12:00 noon, at the Granger 26th Ward, 3750 South 2200 West. Friends may call Tuesday, January 28, 1992, 5-8 p.m. at the McDougal Golden Rule Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Wednesday at the church, 11-11:40 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
