David Delperdang, 65 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Graveside military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 220 and V.F.W. Post 3328 of Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m., a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Knight of Columbus Rosary all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA.

David was born Jan. 6, 1946, at rural Marcus, IA, the son of Gerald & Edith (List) Delperdang. At the age of 3 David moved with his family to near Remsen. He received his education at St. Mary's Catholic School from which he graduated in 1964. He was then engaged in farming with his father and also worked at Marcus, IA for the Marcus Elevator and also Marcus Lumber Company. He enlisted in Company A Army National Guard in LeMars, IA Jan. 6, 1964 and was discharged May 10, 1968. In 1969 he began employment with Well's Dairy in LeMars, IA where he worked until retiring in March 2002.

On Jan. 10, 1977 he married Anne Zimmerman at Remsen where they made their home. Ann died July 22, 1982.

David was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church & Knight of Columbus.

Survivors include; his son, Nicholas of LeMars, IA; one step-daughter, Karla Petersen and her two children, Jacob and Melanie Peterson, all of Audubon, IA; three brothers and their wives, Donald & Bev of Remsen, Ronald & Donna of LeMars, IA, Larry & Julie of Sioux City, IA; two sisters and their husbands, Sharon & Norm Neiland of Carroll, IA, Carla & Bob Brannan of Odebolt, IA; two brothers-in-law, Steve Zimmerman & his wife Judi of Manhattan Beach, CA, Joe Zimmerman & his wife Carla of Gilbert, AZ; three sisters-in-law, Kay Moore & her husband Bob of Grand Rapids, MN, Lynn Z. Madsen of Owatonna, MN, Jayne Schiesel & her husband John of Point Reyes, CA.

Preceded by: his parents, his father & mother-in-law, John "Jack" & Margaret Zimmerman.

Casket Bearers will be: Ben Klein, Mike Neiland, Jacob Petersen, Fred Roling, Gerald Waldschmitt, Chester Wurth.

Honorary Bearers will be: Melanie Petersen, Kim Spearn, Connie Sudtelgte.
