LAFAYETTE - Funeral serviceswill be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Mary Doris "Big Mama" Alleman, 75, who passed away peacefully Monday, March 12, 2007, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
The Rev. Gilbert J. Dutel, pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will officiate the services.
Survivors include one daughter, Gwen Vincent and her husband, Randy, of Lafayette; and two grandchildren, Skyi Vincent and Cory Vincent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Alleman and Celima Prejean Alleman; and two brothers, Theo Richard and Roy Alleman.
A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, La., "Big Mama", as she was affectionately known, was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed cooking but her passion in life was catering to people. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A rosary will be prayed Thursday, March 15, 2007, at 6 p.m. in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
The family requests that visitation be observed today from 11 a.m. until service time, continuing after the service until 8 p.m.
