Eli Fred Barkley, son of Fred and Sarah Barkley, was born at Redfield, Iowa on June 19, 1877 and departed this life Nov. 9, 1957 at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 20 days.

On Dec. 1, 1898 he was united in marriage to Ginah Anderson. To this happy union was born one son, Roy Fred.

The family lived some time in North Dakota then moved to Fairmont, Minnesota for a period of time. In 1912 they moved to a farm near Kelliher, Minnesota, where they farmed until 1947 when they moved to Bemidji. He gave his heart to Christ in a revival in Kelliher in 1931. His wife, Ginah, preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 1951.
