Homer Manley, Was Tinsmith
MIDDLEPORT — Homer J. Manley of Lyndonville died April 15 in Middleport.
He was bom in Addison, N.Y., March 15, 1902, son of the late Frederick and Carrie (Parsels) Manley.
He moved to Orleans County in 1910 where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Mr. Manley had worked for Acer & Whedon in Medina as a tinsmith for many years, and retired from Harrison Radiator in Lockport in 1968, as a journey tinsmith with 14 years seniority.
He was a member of Yates Lodge of Lyndonville #675 F&AM.
His first wife, Edna (Hare) Manley died in 1981.
Survivors include his wife, Iva M. Manley; two daughters, Mary M. Porter of Barker and
Marjorie M. (Charles) Perry of Middleport; five grandchildren ; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; a sister, Marie Bamum of Medina, two brothers, Carl Manley of Medina and Gerald (Loretta) Manley of Lockport, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also stepfather of Gerald (Shirley) Albone of Lyndonville, Robert Albone of Medina, Norman Albone of California, and the late Virginia Myhill. He was also brother
of the late Harry Manley and Flagler Manley.
Friends may call Friday (2-4, 7-9) at Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, Inc., 38 State St. Masonic services will be, conducted Friday, 9 p.m. at the funeral home by Yates Lodge #675, F&AM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, 107 North Main St., Lyndonville, with the Rev. Stephen Devine officiating.
Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the County Line United Methodist Church, the United Presbyterian Church of Lyndonville Memorial Fund, or a charity of one's choice.
