Dorothy E. Smith, 75, a resident at Centre Crest, Bellefonte, formerly of FR 43, Aumiller Lane, Jersey Shore, Pa. died at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College, Nov. 3, 2011.
She was born Dec. 21, 1935, in Williamsport, the daughter of the late Harry and Clara Ferguson Wilson. Her first husband, Thomas J. Pirone died in 1990. On April 13, 1991 she married Donald W. Smith who died in 2009.
Dorothy had been employed at Wundies in Williamsport as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed needlepoint, word find books and ceramics.
She had attended the Philadelphia School for the Deaf and had been a member of Mater Dolorosa R. C. Church, Williamsport.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Clara M. (David) Corbin, Jersey Shore; two grandchildren, Grant Corbin and Heather Corbin, both of Jersey Shore.
Graveside committal services will be held Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Schenck's Cemetery, Howard.
There will be no public visitation and memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, PA.
