Memoriam:
The Angel of Death has again taken from us another of our beloved members, Bro James H. Mason, Sr., who on Monday evening, March 21st, following an illness of a new days, went home to be forever with his Lord.
"Father" Mason, as he was affectionately known to his friends, had been spared many years to his loved ones as he would have reached the ninety-sixth milestone of his life on April 10th.
He was one of the city's oldest residents, coming to the resort with his wife about seventy-two years ago.
He was converted in youth and was a charter member of St. Paul's Church upon its organization about fifty-three years ago and had always been an official member, serving on the Board of Stewards.
His life had been a long and useful one in the community in which he lived and in this church which he loved, of which he had been a faithful member for so many year. While able to attend the services of the church his testimonies and prayers were an inspiration to those privileged to hear them.
Since the death of his beloved wife ten years ago "Father" Mason seemed to be only waiting for the blessed day to dawn when he would meet those whom he had loved long since and lost awhile and receive the welcome from the saviour whom he had served. The day preceding his death he kept repeating, "going home, going home."
Funeral services were held in St. Paul's Church, Thursday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Thomas S. Brock. Interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville.
Our deepest sympathy and prayers are extended to the bereaved family in their affliction.
"Servant of God, well done!
Thy glorious warfare's past;
The battle fought, the race is won,
And thou are crowned at last."

WORK AND FAITH LIVE ON
James Henry Mason Sr., who is dead in his 96th year, was part and parcel of Atlantic City if anybody ever was. He pioneered in business, industry, real estate, church and fraternal work with a zest and confidence in the future of Absecon Island which was characteristic of that narrowing group of early settlers who thrived along with the development of sand dunes into a seashore center of interntational prestige. He contributed his share to the task. His fine posterity - six children, 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, representative of much business, professional and other activity of the present - have every reason to be proud of his name, life and work.
