Per Actual Confederate Surgeons Records:

Daniel was a Confederate Soldier in The 63th Georgia Company C. He entered as a Private, and then he was an Assistant Surgeon, during The War. Dr. Daniel is said to have died from Wounds he received at The Battle of Vicksburg.

He entered Atlantic Medical College on March 14, 1857. He is listed in The 1860 census in Acworth, Cobb County, Georgia.

He married Sara Ann Braswell on Dec. 7, 1854 in Dekalb Co., Georgia. Their children were listed in the 1870 Lithonia Census:

1). Rev. Florence Hill b. Feb. 13, 1856..who married Lona May Ashbrook, their son Hilard Ray Marbut. Their daughter, Eula Cliffie Marbut who married Thomas Harris Dobbs.

2). Rosco London Marbut, Baby.
3). Pressley Wellington Marbut b. May 1, 1861.

In the same Census, with these children recorded as Living with their Grandparents, Wesley and Mary Ann Braswell, next door is Elijah and Sarah C. Braswell with 4). Eugenia Marbut age 10, living with them.

His Wife Sara Braswell, also died in 1863, so Her Family raised Their Orphaned Children. The Braswell and Marbut Families lived close to Stone Mountain, East of Atlanta.

Dr. Daniel's Parents were, Daniel Marbut and Delphia Spillers.

A suggestion from Lee: He was actually in Company C, 41st Georgia Infantry. His name is spelled Morbut. If you look it up in 3Fold you will see that Jacob Braswell was given Daniel's effects after he was killed. So this tells me I have the right Daniel P. Morbut.

DIXIE SAYS: it was very common to have a letter in a name changed on different Documents. I know he was in the Marbut Family. .As these are my Family.
