She is survived by her mother, Maureen of Whitewater; one sister, Anndrea Kohler of Whitewater; her grandparents, John and Elizabeth Kohler of Elkhorn, and Melvin Christian of Elkhorn; several other relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by her father, Bruce Kohler.
Private funeral services were held at the Lockwood Funeral Home in Elkhorn.
Child died from accident injuries
A six year old Whitewater girl died last weekend from injuries she suffered after being struck by a car.
Brittany (sic) A. Kohler of Route 1, Highway 12, Whitewater, was struck by a car driven by Lillian C. Riedel, 76, of N354 Cold Spring Road, Whitewater. According to an accident report Riedel was driving north on Warner Road, two miles south of Countyline Road in Whitewater Township at 4 p.m. last Wednesday, July 1, when the child ran into the road from the east side of the highway.
Riedel said she tried to stop, but was unable to avoid striking the little girl.
Kohler was taken to the hospital where she was listed as having critical head and internal injuries. She died last Friday.
Riedel was not injured in the accident.
No citations were issued.
