According to the source material I am looking at for the Hartshorne Family Cemetery on DistantCousin.com, he was perhaps born in July and he was a son of Edward M. & Louise Hartshorne. It also says that he was in the 7th United States Infantry.
Another contributor to Find-A-Grave has informed me that this Benjamin Hartshorne died in action in the Philippines. I did not see the message for awhile. My sincere apologies.∼Spanish American War Officer. Captain, 7th US Infantry was killed in action.
