Obituary

September 07, 1881

At the home of Joseph Stover, in Harrison county, Ind.
July 2, 1881, Mrs. Ann Rebecca, wife of Joseph Stover, of Pulmonary
disease.
The deceased was born Feb. 19, 1838, in Shen. Co., Va; was the second
daughter of Levi and Francis Bly, of said county and State. She was joined in
marriage with her bereaved husband on Jan. 3, 1856, just 25 years and 6 months
on the say of her interment. She united with the Evangelical Lutheran church on
the 24th of Jan. 1856, under the pastoral care of Rev. Levi Keller, deceased.
Her whole life has been in accordance with the profession then made - a
christian woman in the full import of that term. In her death the church at
Luther Chapel loses a bright light. A home, where husband and children dwell is
now robbed of one who was the crowning joy of that home; but they weep and
sorrow not as they who have nohopne. The community also loses one who was a
useful member thereof. Yet only in the apparent zenith of life, 44 years, 4
months and 11 days old, it seems as if an unseasonable blast has passed and
carried away one so apparently needful to earth. Elijah's chariot did the same/
Her remains were laid away at the Luther Chapel cemetery after funeral services
of the church, conducted by the pastor Rev. J. Keller, July 3, 1881.
