Wilmer L. Ring, 84 of Jesup, Ga. died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in the Golden Living Center after an extended illness.

The Wayne County, Ga. native was a member of Jesup Church of God, a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II, a retired plumber, electrician, and pipefitter working with Labor Union 72. He enjoyed visiting with so many friends, fishing, and woodworking.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Thelma Ogden Ring.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Jones of Newnan, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Leon "Buddy" and Sue Ring of Monticello, Ga.; 6 grandchildren, Katrina Doris, Andy Ring, Kim Ragan, Keaton Ring, Lawanda Ring, Tina Ho; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carlton Ring and Rev. Tommy Powell officiating, along with the American Legion's Presentation of the U.S. Flag.

Interment will be in the Odum Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Andy Clary, Gregg Sparks, Roy Thornton, Jr., David Ring, Rev. Ryan Ogden, and Gladwin Harper. Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Clary, Billy Poppell, David Bowen, Bobby Wiliford, Rowe White, Jesse Ogden, Kenny Sparks, and the members of Local Union 72.
