He was born to Gov. Moses Robinson and Mary Fay. He married Sally Hopkins, daughter of Maj. Wait Hopkins and Mindwell Dewey, on 13 Nov 1793. They had 5 children. He was Town Clerk seven years, in 1815 and afterwards, a justice of the peace twenty-three years, a representative to the Assembly in 1816 and 1817, and Judge of Probate in 1835 and 1836.
