Bobbie Jean Banks, 80, passed away in Mount Moriah Nursing Home Monday morning. Bobbie was born in Palestine, Texas to John and Rosie Melton Langston. Bobbie was the Nutrition Director at the Kingwood School System. She has lived in Hemphill since 1971 after moving from Humble, Texas, she is a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 375 and the Six Mile Baptist Church.
Bobbie was survived by her husband Charles Ray Banks, her daughters: Judy Barnes of Hemphill, Texas, and Debra Ann Dates and her husband Daryl of Humble, Texas. She has 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son Terry Banks.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St. Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Wednesday, January 7, 2015, in the Six Mile Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Yellowpine Cemetery, Yellowpine, Texas.
