"Temperance, May 23 (1932) - Charles Nelson Butler, aged 68 years, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday following a stroke of apoplexy. He had been in bad health for about six months. He had made his home in Temperancesince retiring as a farmer several years ago and had spent his entire life in the vicinity of Temperance.

"Mr. Butler was born in Bedford township on November 13, 1863, and he was married to Miss Lydia B. Wicks on September 9, 1883. Two sons were born of this marriage, Clayton and Clifford, both of Temperance. Mrs. Butler died on July 4, 1903 and Mr. Butler married Miss Tamma Ordway on May 21, 1904. They were the parents of nine children including Benjamin, Edward, James, Arnold, Alvin, Edna, Clarabelle and Dorothy, all of Temperance and Mrs. Viola Matsinger of Samaria. Besides his wife, Mr. Butler is also survived by one brother, R. A. Butler of West Unity, Ohio and one sister, mrs. Emma Jane Ansped of Temperance. There are nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

"The funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the house with the Rev. A. J. Graham of the Temperance Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Hitchcock cemetery, two miles south of Temperance."
