William Henry Cope, third child of Sophia & Christian Cope, wrote an unpublished biography with the title "My Father, Christian Cope" (March, 1946). Edith Cope, granddaughter of Christian & Sophia Dietsch Cope and William Henry Cope's niece, hand-typed onto onionskin paper a multitude of copies, allowing the author to share his manuscript with many members of his extended family. A copy of the document may be found in the genealogical area of the Jay County Public Library in Portland, Indiana. I sent them a copy typed by Edith Cope, as well as a digital copy. The should be found in a filing cabinet where the library keeps smaller documents. Since William Henry Cope was keen to circulate his father's story, it seems entirely appropriate to make digital copies available. Contact the Jay County Public Library's genealogy department for more information.
