EDGEWATER - Alberto M. Galliano, 75, of Victory Palm Drive, a family practice physician in Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach from 1965 until his retirement in 1991, died Monday at home.
Dr. Galliano, a native of Sancti-Spiritus, Cuba, moved to the United States in 1958 and became a citizen in 1963. A medical school graduate of the University of Habana, Cuba, he moved to Daytona Beach in 1962 and became a general practice resident physician with Halifax District Hospital.
He was certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice, where he was a charter member. Dr. Galliano also was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Elks Lodge 1557, Florida Shores Property Owners Association, American and Florida medical associations, Volusia County Medical Society and a charter and life member of Florida Academy of Family Physicians.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Maria; two sons, Alberto, Mechanicsville, Va., and Carlos, Kingston, R.I.; a daughter, Rosa Galliano, Edgewater; four grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.
