Leona W. Black, 94, of Columbia died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1994, at Boone
Hospital Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Memorial Funeral Home with
the Rev. Michael Keith officiating. Burial will be in Millersburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Black was born Jan. 6, 1900, to James Benjamin and Rebecca Jane Crews
Kennett. On Dec. 27, 1917, she married Curtis Black Sr., and he preceded her
in death in 1966.
She was a member of the Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Curtis ``Bud'' Black of Columbia; a daughter, Goldie
M. Bolli of Columbia; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two daughters,
Katherine Jane Stroup and Ruby B. Dawson.
