PORTEOUS — Mr. George Clarkson Porteous, former longtime resident of Hillcrest, passed away Sunday, February 7th, 1976 in Edmonton at the age of 84. Mr. Porteous was born in Douglas Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland, August 19, 1891 and came to Canada in 1910. In 1915 he married Delia Mary Aubertin who predeceased him in 1955. They had three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Kilgore (Mary), of Sandy, Utah, Mrs. Fred Reese(Helen), deceased, Bella, deceased, and two sons; Robert A., of Edmonton and Alexander of Pincher Creek. He also leaves to mourn his passing 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grand children and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted from Foster and McGarvey Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 10th. Reverend Hart Cantelon officiated and pallbearers were James B. Porteous, Larry M. Jenson, Allen Jones, Steve Wiwad, Bill Parson and Jim Parson. Interment took place at Beechmount Cemetery, Edmonton.
