DICKINSON - Georgia Marie Carter passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, in Dickinson, Texas. She was born October 31, 1928, in Mabe, Virginia to Robert and Ellen Shupe. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Mack Wayne Carter. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Georgia is survived by her children, Linda Hicks of Grafton, Ohio, Brenda English of Elyria, Ohio, Mack Carter II of Harmony, Pennsylvania, Donald Carter of Santa Fe, Texas, William Carter of Texas City, Texas, Vickie Chandler of Venice, Florida, Marsha Worley of Texas City, Texas, Dale Carter of Brownsville, Texas, Tammy White of La Marque, Texas, Connie Branch of Texas City, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother, Bobby Shupe of Dandridge, Tennessee; and a sister, Margie Wright of Church Hill, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark Worley IV, Matthew Worley, Joshua Carter, Donald Carter II, Keith Carter and Shawn Millican.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 11, 2006, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 I-45 N, Texas City. Funeral services will be Friday, May 12, 2006, at 11 a.m. in Carnes Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Ronnie Mills of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
