Harry K. Miller, 86, of 613 Center Street, Van Wert, O., died Wednesday morning at the Adams County Memorial Hospital following an illness of seven months.
He was born in Van Wert May 16, 1883, a son of Perry and Bridget Delaney-Miller, and was married to Nellie Hanefeld April 16, 1910. His wife preceded him in death April 18, 1930.
Mr. Miller retired as a conductor for the Cincinnati Northern Railroad for 41 years before retiring in 1951.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Order of Railway Conductors, the Liberty Grange and the Willshire Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Warren (Martha Jean) Chilcote of Berne, and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Trippy of St. Joseph, Ill.; six grandchildren, including Mrs. Dorwin (Barbara Chilcote) Hendricks of Decatur; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, three brothers and one sister are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alspach Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Charles Rader and Rev. Kenneth Whitescarver officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery at Van Wert. Friends may call at the funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
