Sephese was born to Benjamin "Wallace" Van Wickle and his second wife, Ethel Hillgrove Van Wickle.

She was first married to married to Frederick Henry Riedle. They resided in Los Banos, CA and had a son; Frederick Wallace Riedle.

Sephese had 2 years of college and her occupation had been a teacher.

She and Fred divorced after 1930. At some time after 1940 she was married to George Rakos and became his widow. Sephese is listed on her death certificate and the SSDI index as a widow with the last name Rakos. However, her cemetery marker is marked Riedle.

"Accepting a position with Miller & Lux in 1902, Mr. Van Wickle has since been foreman and manager of the Los Banos Planing Mill, and in this capacity has met with characteristic success, building up an extensive and remunerative trade, and becoming widely and favorably known as one of the leading millmen of the San Joaquin valley.

In 1893, in Ogden, Utah, Mr. Van Wickle married Harriet Osborne, who was born in England. She died in Sanger, Cal. Three children were born of their union, one of whom is living, namely, Howard. In 1898, in Fresno, Mr. Van Wickle married for his second wife Ethel Hillgrove, a native of Sacramento county, and they are the parents of three children, namely: Carrie, Sephese and Gladys."

*Note The 1900 census census shows that Benjamin and Ethel had a son named Harry Van Wickle, age 1 . Have not been able to find him since.
