Michael Thair Allred, 63, loving husband, dad, grandpa, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2011 after a courageous nine-month battle with melanoma.
He was born in Ogden on June 23, 1948 to Thair and Reta Allred.
Mike spent many years living and working in Ogden. He enjoyed working for Larsen Beverage (Pepsi) of Ogden until 1980. He made many lasting friendships and always valued the work ethic he learned there.
In 1991, he moved to St. George where he also worked with Pepsi. It was there that he met the love of his life (Beverly) and together they decided to move back to Ogden to be closer to family. He worked for Pepsi Bottling Group of SLC until his retirement in July 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons; two stepsons; two step-daughters; five grandchildren; his sister Sandy (Johnny) Gorum of Wendover; and his brother Steve (Mary Anna Clay) Allred of Star Valley, Wyoming; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 in the Lorin Farr Third Ward Chapel, 1570 East 1300 South, Ogden. There will be a private family only viewing held prior to the services.
Interment: Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, where full military honors will be accorded.
