Guy Black, a resident of McMinnville since 1923, died July 5, at the age of 76 years. He was born in Fairfield, Iowa, in 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Black, and was married in 1901 in Muscantine, Iowa, to Blendena Lane Black, who survives.

Two sons, John and Harold, both of Salem, and one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Eaton, of Ottawa, Canada, survive in addition to one brother, Roy R. Black of Hinsdale, Mont.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, (today) at 2 p.m. at Macy and Son funeral chapel with private committal.

Guy Black came to Oregon in 1910, settling first at Roseburg. After coming to McMinnville in 1923 he opened the C.J. Breier Chain Clothing store here. He continued with the Breier store until 1930 when he entered the real estate business in which he continued until his retirement in 1947. He was active in civic work and was a past president of the board of realtors. He became a Mason as a young man in Iowa and was active for many years in the Commandry and Shrine. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
