Funeral services for Mrs. James C. (Mabel Rosalind) Phares, 68, a Seattle resident 20 years, will be Tuesday. Mrs. Phares died suddenly yesterday at her home. Until last year, she worked with a son, Dean A. Phares, former owner and publisher of The White Center News. Mrs. Phares, born in Michigan, moved to Grays Harbor area in 1908. For many years she was bookkeeper in Hoquiam. She and her husband, James, came to Seattle from Spokane. Surviving besides her husband and son are another son, Ronald C. Phares; a daughter, Mrs. Randall W. Arkell, both of Seattle and six grandchildren.
