Mrs. Sylvena Roberts, widow of Frank Roberts for many years a resident of the town of Worth, died at 10:30 Tuesday evening at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Abel G. Austin, 1003 Franklin street, following a long illness, aged 82 years. Mrs. Roberts had been in failing health for six months and her condition had been critical during the past four weeks. Death was due to complications.

She was born in the town of Pamelia, N.Y., daughter of George and Nancy Weaver Bellinger. She was married to Frank Roberts in 1856. The greater part of her life had been spent in the town of Worth, where she lived for many years on a farm. She came to this city six months ago to visit relatives and was taken ill while staying with her daughter Mrs. Austin.

She was the mother of 14 children, eight of whom survive. Her husband Frank Roberts, served with the Union forces in the Civil war. He died many years ago.

Five daughters, Mrs. Nancy M. Austin, Mrs. Elizabeth Edmonds, Mrs. Jennie Colton and Mrs. Dean Consene, all of this city, and Mrs. Josephine Chrysler of Portland, Ore. And three sons, George Roberts of Lorraine, James Roberts of Worth and Frank Roberts of this city, survive. Fifty-five grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren also survive.

A prayer service will be held at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Abel Austin, 1003 Franklin street, Friday morning at 11 and the funeral will be at 1 Friday afternoon from Lorraine Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. Morton, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Loraine cemetery.
