Born Antonino Calderone in Termini Imerese, Palermo, Sicily, Italy on October 3, 1903. He emigrated to the United States with his mother, Diega Demma Calderone, in March of 1906. His father, Saverio Calderone, previously arrived in the U.S.A. twice before, first in 1896 and then in 1905. The family first settled in Toronto, Ohio, then resided in Louisville, Ohio for a short time. The Calderone's finally settled in Sebring, Ohio by 1908. The family ran a produce stand and grocery store into the 1950's. Antonino (Anthony, Tony) Calderone was a tavern owner in Sebring, Ohio until his death in 1978.
